The term of antagonism has many synonyms and alternatives. This research has explained the term of antagonism theoretically which includes the meanings of disobey, violate, contravene and breaking the norms. It is related to the physiological, social and religious attitudes. In short, an antagonist person says no. Besides, the origin of the word antagonism goes back to B.C and ISLAM, especially to the legends of the eastern nations such as Babylons and Sumerians 2000 years B.C. All the historical phases of the term from Greeks to Post-Modernism have been explored. Any period has given a special dimension to the meaning of the word according to the religion, philosophy and literature. Moreover, the factors of emerging antagonism have been explained. In the practical part of the paper, which is devoted to the poems of Latif Halmat, subjective and objective factors of antagonism of the poet has been thoroughly explained. The main purpose of this research is to prove that Latif Halmat he is an antagonist who seeks for freedom and equality. And he has paid for it by his social and professional life. This has been verified in his texts. Furthermore, this paper describes antagonism as a positive phenomenon to provide a better life for humanity.
